Nailsea Roos took sometime to find their feet in their first tough match of the season. Old Bristolians A's were on top form (mostly county players!) scoring mostly in the first half. But captain Georgina Corner kept battling in mid-field and motivating the rest of her team. Everyone worked hard and new comer Eleanor Hield made some fine defensive strokes in her debut game but by the time Nailsea found their stride they were 7-0 down by the finish of the 22 minute match.
But not feeling down and out and with several team talks the Roos came out as different players in the second match against Old B's B team. New goalie Paige Grimmitt made some fabulous saves and the midfield/forwards Georgina, Cassie Brake and Eve Hodges really kept the pressure on but unfortunately no goal came Nailsea's way. Having let one slip in, Nailsea's defence upped a gear with fine play from Catherine Baker, Rachel Yeo and Heather Wilcox, to finish on a well earned 1-0 defeat.
